Do you ever dream of simplifying your life? Do you constantly look for ways to help you keep your home organized, stay on top of work, and keep up with family and friends? And you’re probably doing all this while juggling eating right, your bills, and your social media accounts, right?
Are you nodding in agreement right now? Then know that you’re not alone. The following is a list of easy tricks and tips to help simplify and manage your life.
Let’s get started.
1. Set Simple Monthly Goals
On January 1st, it’s become customary to make a list of New Year’s resolutions. Then, over the next few months, we lose interest and feel guilty for not reaching our goals.
Why not save the hassle and set some goals for yourself monthly? Breaking down goals into smaller, more manageable chunks makes them easier to achieve. Then as you reach each monthly goal, you can tick them off your list. This will boost your self-esteem, and you won’t have to deal with guilt. And as an added benefit, you’ll keep moving forward throughout the year.
2. Apply the 50/30/20 Budget Rule
Managing finances can be tricky. It can stress you out, especially when you don’t know the best strategies. Unfortunately, most of us weren’t taught how to manage our money once we got out into the real world.
Have you ever heard of the 50/30/20 rule? While researching, I learned about this budget rule and tried it out. I decided it couldn’t be worse than what I was dealing with at the time.
I’m thrilled to report that the strategy works! I say this as someone who has struggled for years at saving, so for it to work for me means it will work for anyone!
Here’s how it works. You spend 50% of your income on living expenses. Then, allocate 30% of your monthly income to lifestyle expenses. The final 20% goes to your savings.
3. Declutter Your Closet
It’s amazing how simple your life can become once you declutter your closet. So, take an honest look at your closet and get rid of clothes you’ve had for years that still have the labels attached.
Think of it like this: you get some extra space in your closet for new clothes. Additionally, you can experience what it feels like to have a clutter-free and well-organized closet.
4. Prepare Your Lunch The Night Before
Prepping your lunch the night before may remind you of being in school when your mother used to make your lunches for you. As it turns out, she was onto something!
First, making your lunches ahead of time helps you save money because you buy everything for the week at once. This will help you order out less, which is also a money-saver. In addition, you’ll also be able to make better and healthier lunch choices.
Think of how it feels to be so hungry that you must eat right now. It can feel like you can’t take the time to make something nutritious. That’s when it’s much easier to reach for the bag of chips sitting on your kitchen counter or grab a donut from the fridge. The best part is that you won’t stress over what you’ll have for lunch each day or how much it’ll cost.
5. Save Files To The Cloud
Do you have difficulty finding files and documents on your computer or smartphone? Why put yourself through the hassle of searching through piles and piles of digital files on your computer when you can save them to the cloud?
Thanks to the numerous cloud service applications, you can now upload almost all types of files and save them to the cloud. Then, once they’ve been safely uploaded, you can breathe a sigh of relief and delete them from your device. This will save you tons of space on your devices.
The best part is that by saving files to the cloud, you can access them at any time from anywhere and with any device. If that’s not simplifying your life, I don’t know what is!
